Nathan Gingles, 43, is facing three first-degree murder charges along with kidnapping, child abuse, child neglect, burglary and interference with custody following the Sunday morning rampage, Broward Sheriff's Office officials said.

The suspended members are Lt. Michael Paparella, Sgt. Travis Allen, Sgt. Devoune Williams, Deputy Ilany Ceballos, Deputy Brittney King, Deputy Joseph Sasso, and Deputy Daniel Munoz.

“It is clear we fell short. We fell on this one,” Tony said during a news conference held Wednesday.

“This death is on my watch. It’s on my watch. I’m the sheriff of this county. I’m responsible,” said Tony

“There will be people who will lose their job(s) over this,” Tony said, calling the suspended deputies’ conduct “piss poor performance” and “bulls--t work.”

He said, “I’m focused on making sure that they don’t win a damn arbitration.”

BSO identified the deputies suspended as:
  • Tamarac Lt. Michael Paparella, 50, a 28-year veteran
  • Tamarac Sgt. Travis Allen, 45, an 18-year veteran
  • Tamarac Sgt. Devoune Williams, 51, a 20-year veteran
  • Tamarac Deputy ILany Ceballos, 27, a 5-year veteran
  • Tamarac Deputy Brittney King, 29, a 5-year veteran
  • Civil Division Deputy Joseph Sasso, 57, an 8-year veteran
  • Dania Beach Deputy Daniel Munoz, 29, a 5-year veteran
In an arrest warrant released Tuesday, a BSO detective wrote that Allen, responding to the call Sunday, saw a man “clad in all-black clothing, including a black hooded sweatshirt and pants” walking with a “small female child who was without shoes.”

"Four-year-old girl
reveals killer father's chilling words
after executing mother, grandfather and neighbor.

A four-year-old girl who witnessed her father shoot her mother, grandfather and a neighbor
told police the events that unfolded in gruesome detail,
Florida authorities say.

Seraphine, the daughter of 43-year-old Nathan Gingles,
said she was sitting on the couch in the living room of her Tamarac home on Sunday
when her father burst in through the back door,
according to an arrest affidavit.

Nathan made his way to the patio
'with a long black gun'
and said 'bye bye'
after shooting 64-year-old David Ponzer to death,
the child said."

This is just wow...

I wonder if the neighbor had left his door unlocked? Because he was found in bed and it was so early in the morning?

Sheriff Gregory Tony said deputies at the time had cause to arrest the eventual murder suspect, Nathan Gingles, but failed to do so. In addition, the executive officer presiding over the Tamarac district, Captain Jeremiah Cooper, was demoted to deputy on Wednesday.

Tony suspended seven deputies within days of the murders as a result of an internal affairs investigation “into any shortcomings that may have occurred” before and during the department’s response to the killings.

Sigh. From the article posted above:

“At one point, after the restraining order was in place, Nathan appeared at the home with deputies to gather computers and their daughter’s birth certificate and passport.

Documents show that when Mary “complained that was not the intent of the injunction, the police said (father is ex-military and has high security clearance and seemed to be friendly with the officers), that it was ‘marital property'” and he could take them.”

I don’t believe one single thing will change. The next abuser will be enabled just as much because he’s “friendly with the officers.” I can just imagine them laughing with him like the cops did with Laundrie.

This is another very awful case... so sad, so senseless and so evil.
