Deputies said the victim is now in hospice care and the suspect, Timothy Morris, 66, often assists with her care when the hospice staff is not around.

Rape of Non-Verbal, Bedridden Patient. 97 y/o.

Which came first---
Nurse telling neice about "unspecified discharge" or
Neice installIing ring cam in aunt-patient-victim's bedroom

Not clear to me where the (alleged) crime occurred.
Were hospice services being provided in patient-victim's own home or perhaps private home of a relative? Maybe the neice who was her "legal guardian" per local10.com link.
If so, IMO, hospice staff would not be at the home 24/7.

Or hospice facility? If so, seems hospice staff would always be "around."
But per story:
"Deputies said the victim is now in hospice care and the suspect, Timothy Morris, 66, often assists with her care when the hospice staff is not around." ibm

Why does story say, victim is now in hospice care? Seems to suggest she was not in hospice care at time of (alleged) crime.

Regardless, what a horrid crime.

From the affidavit. (TYVM, @PayrollNerd)

"Recently a hospice care nurse observed an unknown substance suspected as discharged expelling from the victim's vagina."
"Recently." No date, hmm?
Seems niece installed Ring cam after being informed of that.

Was the "substance" info recorded in nursing notes (or equiv. records)?
Was doctor or admin'tn notified?
Was unknown substance preserved, w some sent for lab testing to detect sperm, STDs, UTI, or __?
If lab results indicated sexual activity w 97 yo bedridden, non-verbal patient w dementia, did nurse/hospice service/dr. preserve some "substance" & provide to LE, along w notifying LE?

As mentioned in my post w more detail (a few notches up) I wonder about where this occurred - a private home or a medical facility of some kind.

Per story:
"Deputies said the victim is now in hospice care and the suspect, Timothy Morris, 66, often assists with her care when the hospice staff is not around."

If this occurred in private home, was Morris the arrestee a (former) employee/handyman of the victim patient? Maybe odd jobs, lawn & yard work, or ___?
If in a medical facility, was Morris a hospice services co. employee, maybe a CNA? Or in a dept not providing pt. care, maybe in kitchen or bldg. services?

Puzzling to me.

ETA link.

Worst case scenario, and actually the most likely: He's related, whether by blood or marriage. Regardless, it's absolutely disgusting.

Suspect's Connection to Victim?

@airportwoman Thanks for your post.

Yes, absolutely, positively disgusting, regardless of nature of connection.
