Authorities are asking for help identifying a woman apparently murdered and dumped in the ocean, a Monroe County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman said.

A passing boater found the woman's body near the Seven Mile Bridge south of Marathon, spokeswoman Becky Herrin said in a news release late Saturday. She was bound and weighed down with a heavy object and had been in the water for two to three days. Detectives described her as in her 20s or 30s, 5-foot-5, 150 pounds, with reddish-brown hair.
