The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office (PBSO) released a Facebook post stating that Monday marks 40 years since Christy Luna went missing, and they are still searching.

It was reported that 8-year-old Christy Luna left her home in Greenacres to get cat food from a local convenience store just blocks away on May 27, 1984, but she never made it home.

They have created a documentary hoping that someone will come forward with information to help close the case and provide answers to her family.

Earlier this morning, I got to thinking about Christy, and the fact that she has been missing for 40 years, and I looked her up and found this video, which is on YouTube and Facebook. It looks like it may have been linked to already, but I'd like to call attention to the 13:05 mark in the video, where a name is mentioned that I never heard before today.

Detective William Springer of the West Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office mentioned a William Ferris at that mark in this video, and according to Det. Springer, Ferris worked for the city of West Palm Beach in 1984, then moved to Virginia about a year after Christy went missing. He became a suspect in 2010 after he was arrested in Virginia for child molestation. At the time, he denied knowing Christy when he was interviewed, but Ferris was interviewed again at some point, and this time he admitted that he did know Christy due to fact that his wife had babysat Christy's best friend. Det. Springer says that one day while he watched Christy and her friend playing together, Ferris had said that one day one of the girls was going to disappear, and sometime after Christy went missing, Ferris had remarked that she would never be found, that she was off Alligator Alley. Not being from the area, I don't know what area that refers to, but with her bodysuit being found in a swampy area, it seems plausible that Ferris may have referred to an area like that, and that her body could have been consumed by aligators. I have been convinced since just about the time I started following the case back in 2009 or 2010 that Victor Wonyetye was the culprit here, mainly because of an article that said he confessed to inmates in New Hampshire that he killed two eight-year-old girls in 1984, and the article referred to one of them as "Greenacres girl", which would have been Christy, but William Ferris's story and remarks have really got my attention. Det. Springer said the only problem with naming him the primary suspect is the fact that no one knows what route Christy took to get home, but he shows an area that would have taken Christy past Ferris's house if it was the route she took. 3960 Lakewood Dr is the address where the remains were found. Trying to cross reference suspects with this address may be hard due to the age of the case.

One of the suspects, Victor Wonyetye lived in Lake Worth, worked there and was charged with being a "Peeping Tom" in Lake Worth.(Has/had family in the area as well)

Possible human remains found at Lake Worth construction site

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after possible human remains were discovered this week at a construction site in Lake Worth, authorities said.

Not saying it's her but I have been keeping up with any remains found nearby.
