Details of Disappearance
Schley was last seen in Jacksonville Beach, Florida on December 17, 1984. He left town with a friend, never returned and has never been heard from again. Schley's friend whom he left with, who is now deceased, is the prime suspect in his case. His disappearance remains unsolved.

These articles indicate he was last known/seen in Charlottesville, VA on December 3, 1984, with a fugitive who later returned on December 5 to Florida with his Corvette (later sold). The person of interest indicated that Mr. Schley "borrowed" 10K from him and used the Corvette and his van as collateral. These articles indicate no one saw Mr. Schley in FL after the POI return and primarily focus on the younger brother's search for him and that they never went more than 5 days without talking. Interesting articles and seem to point to a couple of things - (1) the disappearance date in the original post (and on Namus) is suspect, and (2) if Mr. Schley is no longer living, his remains could be anywhere between VA and FL.
