Right. Criminals are responsible for crimes. If someone bashes someone's head in with a baseball bat stolen from my garage, I shouldn't be held responsible. No difference imo

And when a baby shoots their parent or sibling, no one is responsible.

That's an entirely different situation, and it's not true that the parents can't be held responsible in those cases. The parents can be charged in those cases, and have been.
