Maybe James Bratsos, 5'11, scar on forehead (unspecified) missing age 28 since, march 21, 1954. From Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts. There were rumors that James was drugged in a bar in the "Syrian Town" section of Boston (now China Town), and was shot and buried in New Hampshire, or in Stoughton.

He would have been a long way from home.

Another suggestion, 5'8, scar on right side temple/eyebrow, missing since July 12, 1964, from Lake Butler, FL. White male. His left foot or ankle is deformed <wouldn't they have noticed that? Could it be this JD was already to far gone, or autopsy wasn't done that thoroughly>

I was thinking that the number of tattoos he had was unusual for that time period. Military? Perhaps Marines ("Death before Dishonor, other patriotic symbols)?

Yes, I was thinking that too, looked at a missing veterans website but couldn't find a missing veteran who fits the timeline and the description.

Quite a few distinctive tattoos. Hopefully the right set of eyes stumbles upon his profile.

Following this one. Being from a military family, I have a major soft spot for veterans. I'll have some time this week to do some research on this gentleman.

Love that you post the old paper clippings @PatLaurel At least we know he loved his mom. Did you already investigate the name Farley? Of course he could have lent the shirt or bought it in a thrift shop.
BBM

I did! And I found a Farley with tattoos on both arms, who was reported missing by his wife, after not returning from a hunting or fishing trip... unfortunately that was in June 1965.
I also found a fugitive with very similar tattoos, but IIRC he was later found... I'll have to check this one again.

This might be interesting; tattoo "star/half moon" It's a petty we can't see the tattoos. Is it a crescent moon symbol? There are a couple of countries that have this in their flag.

Wonder if the FBI could run the fingerprints again... Forensic technologies have evolved since 1965. MOO JMO
