FL - Michelle Hunt, 45, died, boyfriend said she‘d fallen off a boat, Manatee County, 16 Dec 2018

I find it very unusual that the victim refused to go to the hospital after hitting her head so hard that she began vomiting. Did she not have medical insurance? Unlikely, considering she probably had insurance through her real estate job. A very high deductible? High copays? Financial troubles that made her feel she couldn't afford to go? Possible. Or was she so out of it that she didn't know what she was saying? Also possible. Or is the boyfriend remembering that part wrong?

An urgent care clinic (Medi-clinic Sarasota Inc) was only a 3-minute drive away (1.8 miles). Would have been so easy to stop there, and could have saved her life.

I think/HOPE the autopsy will shed some light on unanswered questions.

I wonder how often she had been on the boat (or any boat for that matter) and if her reason for not seeking medical attention is that she mistook the post-injury vomiting for seasickness that would pass once she spent some time on dry land?

We will be reading about this boyfriend in a few years when he kills his next girlfriend and then Michelle's death will be reviewed - like in the case of Lynn Keel, who killed his wife, Diana, and now LE is looking into the "accidental" death of his first wife, Bess). Bess' family was interviewed and said they always felt her death was suspicious.

The locals here don't believe this was accidental either. People don't change their inherent behavior. He will be cautious for awhile but not forever.

Abusive men have got to go. So sick of them. The courts have to come down much harder on them from the start and our society has to respect and value our women so much more than it does. Teach your children well.

Quoting my own post here. Would just like to add that anyone who is abusive needs to be made to stop that awful behavior. Get some help.

Update: Well-known Lakewood Ranch realtor’s death was a freak accident, medical examiner says

Ruled an accident. Lacerated kidney and liver along with broken ribs, but the boyfriend insisted she refused to go to the hospital. Broken ribs are typically very painful. It's very surprising that she wouldn't want to seek medical attention.

Surveillance footage of them walking to the car from the boat included at link. I can't really tell what's going on. There's no footage of the actual fall. Supposedly some witnesses finally came forward months later. No reason given for their delayed testimonies.

As a boater in this local area, I have personally fallen off of our large catamaran only to break a bone in the foot and that is in a severe storm. To break your ribs and lacerate your liver falling off a pontoon boat (not that big) onto a dock is really hard to believe. I mean most people around here are boaters, it's common and they know how to get on and off boats. This guy has a long history of abusing women, I seriously doubt that this was an accident. Really Sad. This area is not a major city and I don't feel it has the tools to really figure re-enact this to see if it was a fall etc.. The guy had to lawyer up real fast and kept his name out of the news , ie.. has money, get's away with abusing and hurting woman time after time. Money talks, would not be surprised if this guy has friends in high places.

He still thinks he’s invincible and can buy his way out of problems. I just hope there’s been enough publicity that women won’t let their guard down around him.

There’s absolutely no way she would have been walking normally with broken ribs and internal bleeding going on.

Her boyfriend must have a lot of money, or else people who owe him favors.

I find it odd that he keeps on pointing towards the car. Why would he have to point her in the direction of the car if they came together? It's not like it's a big parking lot, and it's not like she would forget where they parked the car after a couple of hours. Odd...
