On May 2, 2013, Misti Whitfield, a mother of five, went missing in Hillsborough County, Florida. Her remains were discovered sometime in October of 2014. There has been almost nothing disclosed about her death, no suspects or persons of interest ever named. The area has been home to numerous other unsolved homicides and cases never ruled suspicious that may have in fact been the work of serial killers whose territory Hillsborough County falls into. The area is a confluence of interstates that is the territory of possibly several serial killers that use those byways to hunt their victims and evade capture.

"Tampa police say Misti was last seen at Nautical Marine on West Hillsborough Avenue having an argument with her boyfriend. But on Sunday, Misti's remains were found in Tampa, putting an end to a painful and grueling 17-month search.

Police won't say yet where or how she died and don't have a suspect."
