Summary:

Her father works overnight at Amazon. When he returned home the morning of April 18, he took a nap. When he got up around noon, Nayeli was gone. He doesn't know if she left in the morning or during the night. There was no school on the 18th.

Nayeli's mother died when she and her brother were toddlers, and they are being raised by their single dad.

Her father thinks that she was upset because the family might possibly be moving to Connecticut.

She left a note saying that she is upset because her father shows favoritism to her brother. Her father disagrees with that. He says that he is a little tough on her at times because she gets in trouble at school, but says he dotes on her.

She took her phone and tablet with her, but they are turned off.

He thinks she has been influenced by someone. He pulled her phone records from Comcast and gave them to the police.

A Miami man was arrested after his 15-year-old daughter, who had been reported missing, told police she ran away to escape ongoing abuse at home, authorities said.

Luis Roberto Cruz, 45, was taken into custody Tuesday and charged with felony child abuse without great bodily harm.

Nayeli was safely recovered at school. She claims that her father struck her multiple times in the face and kicked her on April 11. She said that the abuse is ongoing and that her father also abuses her 17-year-old brother. The brother confirmed her claims and says that his father punched him in the face and legs in November. He says that he was told by his father and other family members to lie if he was asked about the abuse. The father denies physically abusing them. He says that he punishes them by taking away their electronics.
