It seems this woman was dead at least before December 1984, as it seems a woman claimed her dog had dragged a skull home during that time.

Skeletal remains found in Malabar off U.S. 1

Unfortunately, the woman threw the skull away, but she noted two teeth were missing. Those teeth were found in the blanket.

Additionally, I wonder about the circumstances of recovery. These remains were found about a mile south of Malabar Road, where the remains of two other women were found, Kimberly Walker and another unidentified woman.

I wish there was more detail on her. I actually lived nearby at the time and I was in the same age range. I lived there from 1979-1987 and I finished high school there. I don't have any remaining contact with my fellow students. But you never know what could trigger a memory.

I remember my step dad, brother and boyfriend always worrying about me when they didn't know where I was. My Mom & step dad lived in Grant, just south of Palm Bay. My brother & his girlfriend lived near Malabar Rd and rented land for her horse, right on Malabar Rd. I remember there being news stories at the time of young women being targeted.

I grew up one county north and as bad as Volusia was, we heard a lot of bad stuff going on down in Brevard in the 1980's. Kim Howe was killed down there and of course Tammy Leppert went missing from Brevard just after these remains were found.

The articles posted above note more than once that a “male” was located wrapped in a blanket and “the man” may have met with foul play. Are these 2 different cases or did the authorities realize at a later date this was a female and not male?
