A Florida man who worked as a youth pastor and public school teacher was arrested after he allegedly downloaded child pornography and used his church’s Wi-Fi.

Edward Wilds III, 44, was busted in Palatka, Florida, this week after police said he downloaded the illicit material at Palatka Baptist Temple after a service, the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post.

Police were allegedly alerted to the illegal activity through a cyber-tip from a social media site.

"In total 54,000 images were discovered on accounts and devices associated with Wilds. The majority of the images were pornographic," police said.

This investigation was over a year long. It began last may 2022. He bailed out less than 30 minutes after he was booked.

Investigators found messages from one user asking Wilds for pictures of children aged 14 to 16. Wilds sent the user 42 images.

He worked at several elementary schools so I hope he was not targeting any students he knew personally!
More charges are anticipated.

Deloach said deputies received a tip from someone who said Wilds was involved in some disturbing behavior on social media, which allegedly included sending nude pictures of himself to children.

Edward Wilds pleaded 'no contest' and received one year in prison and 4 years of RSO probation. So he is on probation now. I bet that fixed him (not).
