Patricia Reeves, 62, was last seen at Lake City Medical Center Monday. Police say she was discharged on an unknown date. Since the woman's body is paralyzed on the left side and she reportedly suffers from dementia, she is considered endangered by police.

Police provided the following description of Reeves:
  • Height: 5'04
  • Hair: Blonde
  • Eyes: Blue
  • Weight: 180 pounds

What? Did they just wheel her out in a wheelchair and dump her in the parking lot?

  • #3
So....they didn’t check the cameras to see who picked her up???? Somethings fishy.

Her discharge paperwork should show the date and time.

It’s not like they come in the patients room, say you’re being discharged and 30 minutes later you’re being wheeled out.

Heck two weeks ago it was 4-5 hours later from when they told us a friend was being discharged. And it’s been that way for as long as I can remember.

Was she actually Discharged or did she leave of her on volition, such as Against Medical Advice? It sounds like she would have required some type of assistance to leave. There should be some type of documentation either way that the hospital could provide Law Enforcement.

How is her discharge date unknown? Can’t the police ask to see the date on the paperwork?
If she was last seen at the hospital on Monday, it’s possible (not certain) she was discharged that day. I mean, what hospital wheels a patient out on a Sat or Sun and they’re still there on a Mon?! MOO.

Two of my kids live in Lake City and they have heard nothing about this case. Here is a link to the local daily paper. No mentions of this that I could find in a cursory glance.

News

So this makes me wonder if a family mix-up is at the root of this? Maybe?

Is this woman wealthy that someone would take her, in order to control her money? The only other reason for her to vanish is, if there is a domestic violence situation and she needs to be protected. This is such an odd thing to happen to a disabled person. Usually social services is involved too.

I’m with you on this! Every hospital has cameras. Surely they can go back & review the footage from those cameras (once they check hospital records to verify the actual date she was discharged)!
IMO, this entire thing is not adding up.

Is there a missing person flyer/poster?

I don’t see one anywhere. I sure hope they’ve searched that hospital thoroughly. Closets, empty rooms, the morgue..... disabled patients do not just vanish. This stinks to high heavens.

Which is what leads me to believe she is not actually missing but rather it is a family situation. LCPD is pretty decent per my family living there.

As in, a 'friend of the family' or a relative picked her up, but other relatives now do not know where she is?

Sick.

JMHO YMMV

Perhaps a caregiver versus family situation?

The hospital still should have her release date, whom she was released to and surveillance images available. Like what the heck is going on here?

Was she ever found?!
Wish we had an update.
