TARPON SPRINGS, FL — Tarpon Springs Police detectives are investigating the discovery of decomposed human remains in wooded area in southwest Anderson Park off U.S. 19.
At 6:11 a.m. Monday, the police department received a 911 call from a homeless person who found in the bones while looking for a place to set up camp.
The area appears to be transient camp that can't be seen from any road or walking trail in the park.
Tarpon Springs Police Find Decomposed Body At Anderson Park
Tarpon Springs police detectives and forensic investigators are working with the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office to piece together what happened. Officials do not believe there was any foul play involved, as of now.
The medical examiner's office plans on performing an autopsy to identify the person.
