Where was she living between the first reported and the second reported missing dates?

Robin S.Marlow 1982 from Broward County,Florida

Details of Disappearance Marlow was last seen on May 13, 1982, in Broward County, Florida. She has never been heard from again. Few details are available in her case. Some agencies reported that Marlow was last seen on July 27, 1982.

On Ancestry there are 2 interesting records for Robin Sherrie Marlowe, which give her birth date as 23 February 1954, which confirms they refer to the missing (despite the slightly different spelling of the surname) as that DoB is given in the Charley Project entry for Robin.

The first record is from the Florida Death Index 1877-1998, which gives a date of death as 28 July 1987 in Broward. As this is only an index entry it does not give any other details and may refer either to a confirmed death or a declaration of death of a missing person. However, it would be unusual to secure a declaration of death after 5 years (it is more usually 7 or longer). Someone local who can access more detailed death records may be able to find other details.

The second record is from the US Public Records Index 1950-1993 and gives an address for Robin at 1210 Pearl Street, Key West. As this record does not have a date it may be for an address prior to her residence in Broward.

I suspect that Marlowe is a married name. Ancestry has a birth record for Robin Rubin, born 23 February 1954 in Brooklyn. It also has a marriage for Robin Rubin to Ira Marlowe in Manhattan in 1973. This Robin Rubin appears in two family trees which both list death in 1982.

I am not sure that this moves us much further forward but it does provide some additional information which either merits clarifying (the death record in 1987) or further probing (such as the marriage and husband).

It seems there is more to this than at first apparent. The attached clipping, from The South Florida Sun Sentinel, refers to her disappearing with a partner (Marvin Schlossberg) and blood and a spent bullet being found in their house. It seems that although they had last been seen in July 1982, their disappearance was not discovered and reported until October - when Marvin's wife (from whom he was clearly separated and living with Robin) came looking for him and made the report.

It seems that Marvin is Marvin Edward Schlossberg, born 1943 in New York and with a death date of July 1982 according to family trees on Ancestry and 1987 according to the date on the Florida Death Index (which suggests, like Robin, this is a date of declaration of death rather than a confirmed death date). The July 1982 date is also confirmed by the Social Security Claims Index.

Strangely, I can find no record of Marvin being listed as a missing person despite the death records. I attach a picture of Marvin from Ancestry, from an unknown date. Not only is there no missing report on Marvin, but his entire online footprint is minimal. For a man who obviously had money (nice house, going to Kentucky on equine matters) it is less than obvious what job he had or where his money came from.

It seems more digging is in order.

Fantastic research! This is very strange, especially about Robin's partner never being listed as a missing person when it's obvious there's foul play involved here (the blood and a bullet being found in the house.) If Marvin is still missing, he needs to be added to NamUs to check against unidentified remains.

Great work and interesting findings! I hope you don't mind that I posted a copy of Robin's photo in Dallas, TX JD's thread. I still consider her a likely match to those remains. Did you happen to come across any kind of connection to Dallas or Texas for either Robin or Marvin? Their supposed planned visit to KY for "equine matters" makes me wonder whether they may have also had a reason to be in TX (cowboy country). JD's death date of around July 21-22 and Robin's appearance at the July 27th party are problematic, but there are plenty of cases where the dates were wrong for one reason or another. I can't help but wonder whether that might be the situation here. I'll be looking through UID men around this same time to see whether I can find Marvin.

One other point, a 'Billy Robinson Lewisville Ford' business card was found near JD's body. I thought perhaps JD may have been looking for a job, but now I wonder whether she (if Robin is JD) and Marvin (or someone else) were in the market for a vehicle. Her NamUs profile doesn't indicate whether the business card lead was investigated, although I suppose it would have been. I can't help but wonder whether someone at the dealership had contact with Robin.

Thanks for sharing the results of your research!

I have just come back to this one. Both Marvin Schlossberg and Robin Marlowe were officers of an operation called Miller's Arabians which is recorded as starting in 1980 and being involuntarily liquidated (presumably due to their being missing) in 1983. This explains the equine connection. What is unclear to me is whether this company had any connection with the Miller Arabians of California, a very prominent operation, either directly or as an agent. However, it is unlikely any such connection is relevant. I suspect that such an operation could have had connections almost anywhere in the USA, including Texas (see #10 above) as there are many Arabian studs and competitions.

Was Marvin ever entered into a missing persons database? What about his family can they get him entered into NamUs?
