Teens in Roger Trindade case sentenced to 9-14 months in high-risk juvenile facility
2 teens get about a year for Roger Trindade's beating death
Simeon Hall and Jesse Sutherland will be in a high-risk juvenile facility, considered a mid-range commitment, Circuit Judge Jenifer Harris ruled. Assistant State Attorney Teri Mills-Uvalle asked for a 9 to 14 month commitment for Simeon and 9 to 12 months for Jesse, but the Department of Juvenile Justice will decide exactly how long their sentences will be depending on behavior, among other factors.
After their release they will be given ankle monitors and put on community control for a period of time Department of Juvenile Justice will determine, possibly as long as until their 21st birthdays.

Trindade's family said justice wasn't served in the death of their son.
A jury found Jesse Sutherland and Simeon Hall guilty of manslaughter and two counts of battery involving the beating death of Trindade in May.
"We have the last picture of Roger, remember that," Adriana Thome, Trindade's mother, said in court as she showed the picture of the teenager in a hospital bed.
