Deputies responded to the 2022 Edgewood Road home of Rubye Harrison James on a well-being check after it was reported she lives alone and hasn't been seen since Monday...

Lake County deputies have located Mrs. James' vehicle in the area of Snow Place in Leesburg. In addition, a sheriff's canine has possibly located a shallow grave containing human remains in a wooded area nearby.

Human remains were found in a shallow grave Wednesday in Lake County during a search for a missing 92-year-old woman, sheriff's officials said...

It's not known if the remains are those of James.

The body was removed by authorities, and an investigation is ongoing.

Human remains found in a shallow grave in Florida on Wednesday belong to a 92-year-old woman who went missing two days before.

Officials announced Thursday that they had located Rubye James in Lake County.

This link says Rubye would feed strangers for help around her house,I wonder if this is what led to her being killed.
From Strawberry's video the people who lived in the house near where her remains were found would help her with work.I think it said 5 miles from her home.Lake Co. is very rural,you can bury a body anywhere.Why bury her by this house?

'I loved that woman,' says suspect in death of 92-year-old Leesburg woman

Krystopher Laws, 21, and Joshua McClellan, 19, were arrested about 6:30 p.m. on charges of first-degree murder and robbery.

As McClellan was being booked into jail, he said he did not kill Rubye Harrison James, that he just wanted cash for pot, and that he didn't know it was her car. He also said that he loved her.

Laws did not speak to reporters.

Just heinous. This poor woman lived 92 years, saw things that we whippersnappers will never know, and was exterminated by two young men at the start of their lives. For pot money. Sheesh.

She died of multiple stab wounds and blunt force trauma.All they got was $70. and spent it on pot.

Ummm, I pretty sure I've cried over dead cats and dogs, some I never knew that I saw dead beside the road. And yet, YOUR NEIGHBOR, and you don't cry??
She's in a better place, and won't be hungry? Do WHAT?

Oh Rubye James, you lived 92yrs and avoided evil murderers. There's nothing you could have done for anyone to inflict this death sentence. I just can't believe people thinking they have the right to take away a life, and for a mere few dollars? What has the world become??

May your spirit fly free. May your presence on this Earth not be forgotten.

I wonder if the dear lady had any family nearby or living? In my area, I'm seeing more and more elderly with no family nearby, and no way caring or checking in on them. I had one live with me for 8 yrs because even though she had family, none would help her. None would take her to doc appts, or call daily to check on her. I just don't understand this lack of human compassion! Where in the heck is our respect for the elderly?? *sigh* How I wish I was in great health, and had lots of money to take in all that need someone to care about them.
