Unfortunately, these people have groupies who don't care how horrible the things they do are. They've been trained their whole lives to excuse and enable violence against women and children by men in power.
After working with survivors of domestic violence for many years and being one myself, I'm writing a PhD dissertation on cash assistance for survivors. Cash assistance means local DV agencies give small cash grants to people, mostly women, who have survived relationship abuse. It covers whatever the survivor decides she needs: moving expenses, childcare, rent, groceries etc. The vast majority of these women, who have done nothing wrong, receive between $500 - $1500. (ETA: only a small percentage of the people who need the funds are awarded them, simply due to there not being enough to cover everyone!) And I had to change the entire structure of my research because almost all of this funding was erased by the DOGE bros a year ago.
Even more interesting, when I was added to my first research team back in 2019, my job was to interview social workers across the state who actually work with clients who receive the funds. One SW in Durango was so proud to tell me about a young lady who was living in the woods in a tent and Birkenstocks in the snow who was fiercely independent and not sure she even wanted to accept money. The agency gave her one month's rent. At the time of the interview which was a year or two later, the client was still housed in that same apartment! One month's rent had empowered her to change her whole life! It was one of that agency's most profound success stories, although they had many. I thought about this story many times over the years, so you can be certain that this year when I read about an unnamed Epstein survivor who had been homeless, living in a tent in Durango, CO, I immediately knew in my heart it had to be the same person! Full body chills.
When I see these smug pedos taking $27,000 for what my sweet, resilient survivor of the biggest and most powerful and depraved sex trafficking ring in the history of the world got $1000 for, couldn't get today thanks to Epstein client #1 gutting all federal funds that go to women, and made miracles with despite her trauma?
