Husband and wife couple ambush murdered in a fire arms sale in Florida. Suspects are two former soldiers with direct ties to far right groups in Ukraine fighting the Russian occupation of the eastern portion of Ukraine. The motive of the murder of the couple was to obtain money to fund combat excursions.

One suspect is in custody. The other suspect, Craig Lang, was detained in Ukraine and is fighting extradition. Lang is emphasizing his combat service in eastern Ukraine, and that his Ukrainian girl friend is pregnant in his fight against extradition to Florida.

Langs's extradition is proceeding very slowly- if at all. Our government needs to increase the pressure and obtain extradition with no guarantees for Lang.

As a side note, the suspect's extradition hearing are apparently being held in Vinnystia, a city in western Ukraine.

Though the suspects service in private pro Ukrainian militias would be viewed sympathetically in all parts of Ukraine not under the control of pro Russian factions, support for private militias is stronger in western Ukraine. I think several militias are have training camps in the Vinnystia area.

More local support could well mean local judges inclined to delay or forbid extradition.

Lang has yet to appear before a federal judge. He has denied involvement in the Florida murders and has fought extradition back to the United States.
