On June 6 a tipster emailed a Florida Department of Law Enforcement agent, worried because 20-year-old Shawn Ryan Thomas told him he planned to kidnap a 9-year-old girl and rape her, murder her parents, use her in a child-porn movie and then kill her, too. He needed to talk to the agent "urgently," according to a search warrant in the case. The FDLE, though, did not intervene.

The next day, the girl, her father and grandfather went to a Longwood house, the spot where Thomas planned the murders and rape, authorities allege. He was a film student, he claimed, and had convinced them he would cast the child in a film he was making.

The grandfather met with Thomas but grew suspicious, in part because there was no furniture in the house and the floor of one room was covered with sheets of plastic. Thomas tried to talk him into staying, according to an arrest report, but the family left unharmed.

Local 6 News obtained evidence against the man who is accused of posing as a movie producer to rape and murder young girls. The new discovery includes text messages and a recording of Shawn Thomas asking a confidential informant to help him murder an entire family...

"I don't want to go through life and not do it, at least once...but at the same time, I know doing it at least once makes it much, much easier to do it again," said Thomas...

Thomas is being held without bond at the Seminole County Jail. His next court date is set for 9 a.m. Sept. 17.

The authorities were told the details of an admittedly PLANNED and detailed murder and rape, and did not intervene??

October 2015:

A Seminole County judge Monday sentenced a Longwood man to 885 years in prison for possessing "massive" amounts of child pornography, officials said.

Shawn Ryan Thomas, 32, is also accused of plotting a sex attack on a 9-year-old girl and planning the slayings of the girl and her parents.

He is expected to be tried later on charges of attempted kidnapping, attempted child rape and attempted murder.

Monday's sentencing was only for child pornography. He was convicted in June of 60 counts of possessing child pornography.
