St. Lucie County Sheriff’s officials are asking for help in identifying the body of a woman found in November along Sneed Road, the agency stated Monday.
Investigators were called Nov. 17 to the 4800 block of Sneed Road where the remains, described as being in a severe state of decomposition, were found.
The location is west of the St. Lucie County Fairgrounds just off Okeechobee Road, a largely rural area.
The discovery was not publicly disclosed at the time.
Detectives have tried to identify the woman, who is white and 40 to 60 years old, to notify her family members. She is about 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 7 inches and of thin build. She weighted 80 to 100 pounds, and had grey and brown hair.
She had a small flower tattoo on her right forearm, a flower tattoo on top of her right shoulder and a Chinese symbol on her left upper arm, according to the sheriff’s office.
She had surgical implants, including hip and shoulder implants, which were found during an autopsy.
Our detectives used this information to try and trace back any identifiable and useable serial numbers or lot numbers to determine the woman’s identity,” Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Brian Hester stated in a release. “Unfortunately, all attempts to do so proved unsuccessful.”
Those with information are asked to call 772-462-3230 or Treasure Coast Crime Stoppers at 1-800-273-TIPS (8477).
