Fort Pierce, FL, United States ·

On January 15, 2026, at approximately 11:30 p.m., a 911 call was received reporting a suspicious person in the area of South Rock Road, behind the Pilot Truck Stop. Deputies with the Patrol Operations Bureau responded to the location and encountered a male near a semi-truck that appeared to have left the roadway and entered a ditch while attempting to abruptly turn around.

During their initial investigation, deputies observed blood inside the cab of the semi-truck near the passenger door, as well as blood on the exterior passenger-side area of the vehicle. The male was confirmed to be the owner and operator of the semi-truck.

An area search is currently being conducted in the immediate vicinity as part of the ongoing investigation. The subject has been identified as Olson Jean, 41, of Pompano Beach, Florida. Jean has been arrested on a charge of obstruction of justice and is currently incarcerated at the St. Lucie County Jail.

Anyone who may have had contact with Jean within the past 24 hours, or who has information regarding the pictured semi-truck, is asked to contact the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division at 772-462-7300.

This is an active and ongoing investigation, and residents should expect a continued law enforcement presence in the area.

I don't like where my mind is going with the abrupt turn around of the semi.

Do you think something sinister occurred or was left "on the other side of the road"?

He obstructed LE and his inmate info shows he was Baker Acted... not sure what to make of these two facts together. MOO JMO

With blood being found on the passenger side, I wonder if someone was in the cab and self-exited. Was he turning around to prevent them from running? Of course, have I looked at the area where this supposed U-turn happened? No, no I have not, lol. I will (eventually) look around the area and maybe things will look different than my initial assumption.

Yeah, it’s weird IMO that blood was found on the inside AND the outside of the passenger side. Was someone trapped inside who tried to exit or was someone assaulted on the outside then transported somewhere?

JMO until more information comes out but I suspect something bad has happened.

It's not clear which road or in which direction he was traveling, but looking at the ditch behind the Pilot Truck Stop, maybe he missed the entrance, yanked the wheel, and lost control of the truck? Maybe it was an accident and he panicked? The blood on the passenger side is weird though and definitely enough to catch the deputies’ attention... And, OJ obviously wasn’t bleeding himself. From your link:

But, on Saturday, detectives found probable cause to book Jean on counts of First Degree Murder with a Firearm and Tampering with Evidence in connection with the death of a 32-year-old Coconut Creek man, Wendy Moncion.
——-
That report is confusing as it refers to the victim as a male while another report calls Wendy a woman:

Could this be a situation where the truck driver murdered a trans woman? JMO

It is reported to be in the area of South Rock Road, behind the Truck Stop (Google calls it the Pilot Travel Centre)

Deputies say Jean is currently being held at the St. Lucie County Jail without bond.

Authorities have not yet confirmed if the victim’s body has been recovered.

A press conference is scheduled for Tuesday in Fort Pierce, where Sheriff Del Toro may reveal more details about the investigation.

Quite vague with the details so far, aren't they? I gather they located a body in the vicinity of the truck if this supposedly deceased man/woman has been identified already.

I know the area, but we don’t know which route OJ was taking when the truck went into the ditch. In any case, that is now irrelevant. In the post you quoted, I had considered the possibility that it might have been an accident, but we now know it wasn’t.

There are a few court records in Broward County for a Wendy Moncion. The sex, YOB and address all match. Also, Wendy is a common male name in Haiti, though I don’t know if that’s where he was from. OJ is definitely of Haitian ancestry. MOO JMO

Wow okay. According to the press conference -

The victim's body was found inside the truck, in the sleeping compartment stashed under the bed.

The victim is the cousin of the suspect/truck driver.
The suspect had been acting paranoid and erratic (his wife sighted mental health concerns), so the cousin travelled to meet him and accompany him (travelling in the truck) on the journey back home.

Very sad.
