TAMPA — Rena Walters and Ashley Darling say they’re living a nightmare. The two haven’t seen or heard from their youngest sister, Teneisha Griffith, in days. Now, they’re asking for the public’s help.

Griffith, 27, was last seen in South Tampa, according to a post at 9:34 p.m. Wednesday on the Tampa Police Department’s Facebook page. Police say she was driving a white 2008 Nissan Altima. Griffith’s family and police are concerned for her well-being, the post said.

The responsible mom who works at Amazon had no reason to just pick up and leave, Griffith’s sisters told the Tampa Bay Times.

A day earlier, Griffith texted her father after returning from her job at Amazon, but friends and family — including her 12-year-old daughter — have not been in contact with her since then, her sisters said.

The young mom had called her daughter, who is staying with Griffith’s mother, every day before she seemingly vanished, Darling and Walters said.

Griffith also never showed up to work on Tuesday as scheduled, prompting deeper concern for her distraught family, who put up fliers around her south Tampa home Wednesday in a desperate search for leads on her whereabouts.

Teneisha Griffith, the 27-year-old South Tampa woman who had been missing for days, had died, she wrote.

On Saturday afternoon, the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office said it has taken over the investigation but was unable to provide details.

Investigators are still waiting on the medical examiner to determine how Griffith died, and her death has not yet been ruled a homicide. However, the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office says it is suspicious. They’re asking for help from the public as they continue to investigate this case.
