A 38-year-old woman in Florida was arrested this week after she allegedly got into an argument with her sister and tried to throw acid on the other woman but missed and accidentally hit her sister’s daughter with the dangerous liquid, injuring the child.

Tenisha Geddis was taken into custody on Thursday evening and charged with one count of felony aggravated child abuse, one count of felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and one count of misdemeanor battery, court records reviewed by Law&Crime show.

no word on the victim's injuries or prognosis ...

Oh yikes, I know that stuff from using it in my parents’ swimming pool, and the warnings all over it indicate just how awful and corrosive it is. The number of reconstructive surgeries this innocent child will likely need is horrifying, and this woman should be punished as harshly as the law allows. Although I wonder if this attack would be excused, under the “stand your ground” laws of the state, if the woman claims she threw it because she feared for her life…?
