Pembroke Pines-based Missing Children International Ministries and the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office are starting by digging up 15 bodies whose DNA never was entered in the FBI's national DNA database.

The first bodies should be exhumed this year. DNA tests hopefully will identify people who have been missing for decades.

Missing Children International Ministries plans to expand the project — called "Who Am I?" — next to Broward County, then statewide. Dinorah Perry founded the non-profit group in 2004 to help solve missing persons cases.

Perry estimates that there are 200 unidentified bodies in South Florida alone....

Florida needs to exhume the bodies of all the people they placed in John/Jane Doe graves for DNA. There are so many families that need answers, and those answers may well be hidden away from us until the DNA of every unknown they have buried is entered into CODIS.
