Crime scene tape up. This is very strange.
Very. The "crime scene" stretches from eastern Hillsborough across the bridge to the beach (Sand Key) with the Roosevelt property along the way.

The neighborhood/apartment complex is just over a mile away from USF campus. Do we know where either of them were living?

Fox13 just answered my question - says they do not think that either student lived there but is unsure.
He lived at Avalon - Avalon apartments maybe. Not sure about her.

Fox13 update now says 28th and Roosevelt was NOT considered a crime scene. Police are processing some evidence gathered elsewhere, using a forensics truck at that address. Strange…

Not necessarily. LE uses the term "crime scene" in such cases rather generically. For example, when I went out on a plane crash, it was always classified as a "crime scene" internally and sometimes to media. That just ensured the correct forensic protocols were followed to avoid loss or damage to evidence. Crime scene tape, you don't get past the tape without a LE type badge (ours were only used at crashes and for small airplane crashes we usually worked with the Highway Patrol), proper hazmat gear for biohazard scenes. etc.

Very few crashes actually involved a "crime" short of violation of federal air regs though a few did, I've been involved with murder suicide by aircraft investigations and possible sabatoge ones.
The ‘crime scene’ isn’t really my point. I’m talking about multiple locations tied to the same case. Two missing people and four different places linked to them. Just made me wonder if someone else might be involved. MOO JMO

Fox 13 says the Lake Forest investigation is linked to a possible suspect - but both students are confirmed not to reside there.

Police confirm to Fox13 there is a barricaded suspect inside the Lake Forest community. One person barricaded, not a hostage situation.

Just confirmed to be a barricaded subject at the Bruce B Downs scene

They're preseving possible routes of travel to insure any physical evidence there isn't trampled on inadvertently.

Press conference in the next 30 min to an hour (though I wouldn't be surprised if it was longer).

Is there a link to the PC?
Not that I see. I don't think it's even set up yet. I'm streaming local FOX and they're talking about it. They're saying they did find evidence of some kind on the Howard Franklin and it's being processed at the Roosevelt site. Here's the Fox link:

So evidence from the Howard Frankland Bridge was taken to the 28th St/Roosevelt address, which is a police training facility. Very large police presence there.

Oddly, the evidence is under a couple of tents that look like canopies like at the beach. It doesn't appear to be a lot of evidence but maybe I can't see it all. I think if they had pulled any bodies out of the bay we would know it, it's hard to hide that.
