I’m not exactly sure what a “street racer” is, but I wouldn’t expect one to be driving a Camry.

Exactly. These young, dumb & broke kids think it’s cool to drag race and take over streets. I have noticed when LE gets wind of it they’re quickly rounding them up. People are fools and line the sidewalks to watch not grasping the risk they’ve put themselves in.

This kinda crap went off out on dirt roads in the country all the time when I was growing up decades ago. But these fools are so brazen now they do it in populated areas.

Accident kills four, injures 11 after street racer crashes into a bar

Silas Sampson, 22, was allegedly driving recklessly and being chased by police when his car slammed into Bradley's bar on 7th Avenue, hitting more than a dozen people on the patio.

Police first picked up on Sampson's alleged bad driving while he started heading toward I-275 South around 12.30am.''

''It was first picked up on by the Tampa Police Department air unit on Hillsborough Avenue near 22nd Street alongside another car before getting on the interstate alone.

Sampson eventually got off the interstate and entered downtown Tampa. While racing through the streets of the 414,500-resident area, police attempted to do a PIT maneuver to stop the young driver.

A PIT maneuver is where police tactically make contact with a car to force it to stop and spin. However, Sampson evaded it and was able to continue toward 7th Avenue, where he crashed into Bradley's. ''

'This tragedy has struck at the heart of Tampa's LGBTQ+ community,' it said in a statement. 'Bradley's on 7th is more than just a nightclub, it is a sanctuary, a space of celebration, love, and chosen family for countless people across Tampa Bay.

Victims killed in Ybor City pursuit crash identified

Two men and two women were killed Saturday when the fleeing driver drove onto the sidewalk on Seventh Avenue and crashed into a nightclub’s outdoor seating area, records state.

''Sampson tried to run away but was caught by Tampa police. Investigators smelled alcohol coming from Sampson, his speech was slurred and he was unsteady on his feet, according to the motion. He refused to provide a blood sample, so investigators obtained a search warrant to get one. The results were still pending when the Hillsborough State Attorney’s Office filed the motion Sunday.

“Ok, so I killed someone ... just get me to jail so I can get these handcuffs off,” Sampson said, according to the arrest affidavit. “I’ll go and sit for a few months.”
