What is going on with the Prichard AL police department? Have they lost their police department MIND?

Former Prichard AL police officer, Bryan Pearman Indicted for Kidnapping and Rape

According to previous court documents, Pearman allegedly abducted, threatened to kill and struck a woman in the face on November 14.

That's bad enough and finally, Pearman was fired Nov. last year. I say finally because look at this guy's record:

Let's go back in time with Office Pearman. In 2014 he was charged with aggravated child abuse for attacking 2-year-old multiple times.

Now, read this article all the way to the bottom. It is shocking.

However, Pearman's recent run-ins with the law are merely a small part of a lengthy rap sheet within Mobile County.
Among a series of traffic violations such as speeding, driving without a seatbelt, and driving without insurance, Pearman has two previous violent offenses: a cruelty to animals charge in 2010 and an aggravated child abuse charge in 2013.

This cop had a rap sheet before he was even hired.

Pearman graduated from the police academy in 2011, was hired by the Prichard Police Department, quit, and was re-hired in 2014.

The Prichard AL police department KNEW he was violent and they hired him TWICE.

Bryan Pearman would not pass a background check to become a moderator on Websleuths.

Let's keep an eye on this guy and hopefully, he will never be a cop again.

This is local for me. I'm not surprised to find that Prichard hired him even with his past. It's the most heavily crime-ridden area around here, and Prichard PD is not known for having the best practices (pay, hours, etc) to retain officers. In fact, a few years ago, cops in Prichard went on strike (if I'm remembering correctly) to protest their treatment, and the community was left very vulnerable for a few hours. They seem to be chronically understaffed and constantly using poor judgment.

Not an isolated incident around here though, sadly. Mobile PD was going to hire this lady until the public outcry over it:
