How so? In the month or so you’ve been here, have ya noticed a lot of “blamey” thread titles? Or do ya think “allegedly” especially relevant to this thread? Just curious.
WS seems scrupulously fair.

I just really wonder what her end game is. Mexico? She has grown children and grandchildren. What could she possibly be thinking? I feel certain she's changed her appearance and, at this point, it seems she's more than willing to do whatever necessary to stay on the run.

I don't think she cares about her children or grandchildren. She stole money from her own disabled sister (that is fact) so I am guessing unless her kids have money for her, she wants little to do with them.

Woman who killed husband, stole another female's identity spotted on surveillance video, cops say

Surveillance video released Monday shows a grandmother befriending a Florida resident days before she killed her to steal her identity — a plan she hoped would thwart the authorities hunting her in connection with her husband’s murder.

Officials launched a multi-state dragnet for Lois Reiss, 56, who's accused of killing her husband, David Reiss. Reiss' body was found on March 23 with multiple gunshot wounds. Lois Reiss vanished after her husband’s body was found, and her trail went cold until Pamela Hutchinson, 59, of Bradenton, Fla., was discovered dead.
New surveillance video released by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office show Reiss at Smokin’ Oyster Brewery on Fort Myers Beach on April 5 talking to Hutchinson. The new friends seem to hit it off talking at the bar – but Reiss’ allegedly had an ulterior motive for the chitchat.

Hutchinson was found shot dead last Monday, four days after the two were spotted on surveillance video. Police said Reiss — described as woman with brown eyes, blonde hair and 5 feet 5 inches tall — killed Hutchinson because they look similar.
Reiss, who has a penchant for casinos, is believed to have stopped at an Iowa casino on her drive to Florida. The car she was in, a 2005 Cadillac Escalade, was found abandoned in a Florida park.

Reiss is considered armed and dangerous and authorities warned people to not approach her.

This case was discussed on Crime & Justice with Ashleigh Banfield on HLN tonight. The transcript of the show should be available later.

Police said Riess allegedly drove Hutchinson's car to Corpus Christi, Texas, where it was last spotted. Marceno said she may be in Mexico.

"Our main fear is once her resources, once she diminishes all her resources, that she will be desperate and she will commit another act of violence," he said. "We don't want any more acts of violence or God forbid murder. ... She's on the run and we need to do everything we can to bring her to justice."

Riess has three adult children and is a grandmother as well, according to Dodge County Sheriff Scott Rose. She has no criminal record, according to authorities. She is now wanted for murder, grand theft auto and identity theft.

When this case was first reported locally I thought it was crazy enough, but I kind of just ASSumed she would get caught sitting at some regional casino without incident. Boy was I wrong. This story now reads like a bizarre episode of Criminal Minds, which definitely makes me worried what is next. If she is capable of charming a stranger for the sole purpose of killing her to steal her identity, that is some cold, sociopathic behavior. She isn't going to go down easy...

Does anyone know how authorities know she was in Corpus?

Since this woman is addicted to gambling, as per reports..,I hope this will be her undoing. Do casinos need ID ?

If she's following the news, she could cut and dye her hair, and heaven forbid look for another victim....

Our casinos check ID but don’t scan or reference it or anything. Just looking for age.
