WRIGHTSVILLE, Ga. (WGXA) — A GoFundMe has raised over $26,000 for a Wrightsville firefighter who had his right hand reattached after a man attacked him with a samurai sword.
On Monday morning, 46-year-old Wrightsville Firefighter Chad Wombles was attacked and severely injured by a 32-year-old, sword-wielding Washington County man named Diamond Seltzer. Authorities say the attack was unprovoked as Wombles was speaking with a friend who is a Wrightsville Police officer.
