Columbia County man missing and his family needs your help | WJBF

Holding back tears, Austin Hollar’s wife, Paris, said, “He’s the hardest worker that I know. He’s a family man. He doesn’t go anywhere but with us.”

According to Paris, Austin was leaving work Saturday. Investigators say he was last seen at Harvard’s Wine and Beverage on Old Evans Road. They report Austin hasn’t shown any cell phone or social media activity since.

If you know anything about where Austin Hollar is, call Investigator Daniel Gaston at 706-541-2011 or 706-541-2800.

He went to the liquor store after work and his wife has not heard from him at all, and his cell phone has not been used.

There are still lots of unanswered questions, such as: has the phone been located? Was he carrying much money on him? Although his wife describes him as a family man who limits his socializing to his immediate family (this is what I infer from her use of the word, "us "), has he ever -- even once -- done something like this? Have his coworkers been contacted and interviewed? Does he have a history of going on benders? Were there cameras inside and/or outside the liquor store? Where is his vehicle?

I hope and pray he is found safe; his poor family.

How terribly sad.

Coroner's Office identifies missing Martinez man as victim in fatal crash

According to the Coroner's Office, 27-year-old Austin F. Hollar was identified as the driver in the crash that occurred on the 3400 block of Silver Bluff Road.

Shortly before 11 a.m. Tuesday morning, the Coroner’s Office responded to the crash on Silver Bluff Road.

A 2013 Nissan Rouge was traveling west when the vehicle ran off the right side of the road and went down an embankment striking a tree, according to the Coroner's Office.

Authorities say Hollar was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead on the scene.

Crash victim identified as missing Columbia County man

Troopers weren’t able to confirm whether the accident happened Tuesday morning or might have happened earlier.

There’s a sharp curve on the road there and a landowner said there are frequent crashes there by drivers who take the curve too fast.

The family and friends of Austin Hollar had planned to meet in the area Tuesday morning and search for him because it’s near the last area his cellphone indicated he’d been. They were to meet at 9:15 a.m. at the Dollar General at Williston Road and Silver Bluff to begin the search.

Within a couple of hours, the grim discovery was reported.
