Sarah Elizabeth Pombert, 34, and Joseph Matthew Turner, 35, were arrested Monday, June 2. They’re accused of keeping the toddler in a “dirty living space” in a backyard shed at their home in Douglasville, according to an arrest warrant from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.

A Georgia couple is now behind bars after allegedly leaving a 3-year-old alone in a backyard shed for weeks, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.

The toddler also hadn’t been bathed and was not wearing clothes when deputies arrived at the scene.

"A 3-year-old" is an odd thing to say. Was this not their own child? If not, then whose was it? Is there some learning disability that the child has? Did they leave the toddler in the shed while they worked because they couldn't find a babysitter? So many questions here.

in Sarah's FB I posted upthread the couple has a toddler who seems to be the same age as reported victim. Neighbor interviewed says not surprised because of their "lifestyle" so I am assuming drugs/addiction played a part in this case. In addition, Joseph Turner's prior charges would seem to support a drug problem.

I doubt this had anything to do with a lack of childcare. I suspect this has everything to do with their child became inconvenient and out of site out of mind made that inconvenience more tolerable for THEM. :(

Just hoping the 3-y-o will be able to eventually live a good life with loving step-parents.
Do we know how long the child was kept in that h*ll-hole? Assuming the child may not even have language skills and possible problems with health, i.e. growth, walking, talking, fear of people, etc.
Where is the child now?
There probably is more info on F-book, but I do not use it, so please forgive my ignorance re this horrible situation.
Healing thoughts and good care for this little human-being and for those who hopefully are making things much better.
