It was back in March of 2010 when Brian Gale and his 15 year old stepson Daniel went out scouting turkey locations.

Later that night Gale called his wife saying the two had gotten lost in the woods and Daniel was too weak to go on, so he left for help.

Daniel's body was found face down in the swamp the next day.

"My entire life has done a 180 degree turn since Daniel died," said a tearful Gale. "I had a perfect life. 2 beautiful children, a beautiful stepdaughter, great job. Now I have none of that. Everything's gone that i've ever had."

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation determined Daniel died of hypothermia and drowning.

In May of this year, a grand jury indicted Brian Gale on charges including murder, manslaughter and cruelty to children.

According to Hinesville District Attorney Tom Durden, the man convicted of leaving his stepson to die in a McIntosh County swamp in 2010 accepted a plea deal Tuesday.

Brain Gale pled guilty to deprivation of a minor that resulted in the death of a minor and has received five years probation.
