Good eye, @Beebs78!

Tennessee woman's sleuthing helps identify Georgia man's body after 37 years

Requires free registration to view. Good, in-depth article w/ new pics of Donald Boardman.

Investigators at the time sought connections between the missing man and the trio found with his car and found Boardman's Visa was used after he was reported missing to make a variety of purchases from gas stations, two department stores and two Chevrolet dealerships, according to 1985 police reports.

Other purchases using the card were made at a motorcycle salvage shop with descriptions matching the trio found with Boardman's car, the reports state. Since 1985, the two men have died but the woman still lives.

Investigator still looking for clues in 1985 Marion County, Tenn., cold case death (2018)

The forensic sketch was spot on. Props to investigators for also releasing detailed descriptions of his clothing.

I think it’s great that Donald Boardman’s body has been identified, and I applaud the talented sleuthers who cared enough and were talented enough to ID him.

I think it is misleading however for Fox News or any other media outlet (or LE agency) to suggest that this cold case murder has somehow been solved.

Despite LE finding DB’s car and Visa card and other items in the possession of a trio of known criminals (one who owed a body shop) in south Atlanta (or just south of Atlanta), nobody has been charged, and the case remains unsolved.

If it began as a robbery at the health food convention downtown, who did it? Who kidnapped DB, stole his car, killed him and hid his body in Tennessee? If one of the three persons of interest (?) is still living, is LE still working to try to solve the case? If not, why not? Until it is solved, it remains unsolved. If LE is not actively working the case, it is a cold case.

I am hoping the identification of DB has spurred Chamblee and other involved LE organizations to re-open the case and seek justice for DB and provide some answers for his family. A really sad case

The article stated that the two men involved in his death are deceased and police are looking for the female involved.

Homemaker Barbara King Ladd recently cracked a cold case that investigators had been unable to solve. It had been decades since Donald Boardman’s disappearance had made news headlines. But thanks to one woman’s curiosity, the case has been partially solved.
