I think I'd be making out a will to make sure neither one of them would be able to profit from my death if I were their parent.

Exactly and mail them a copy where they have to sign that they received it.

So they know they cannot gain financially from their death. It should help prevent any future ideas of killing them for money reasons. Although then they have to worry about being killed for taking them off the will so to prevent that too what they can do is tell LE to always look at their sons if they should ever get murdered in the future and let the boys know they informed LE of this.

That should help.

What a nightmare.

This is the recent case of 2 boys killing most of their family that this case reminds me of.

Definitely not "one bad moment" if "one of the sons told authorities he had been planning the attack since he was 11, according to the search warrant." Wow!! What is wrong in the world today?!!

Praying for the parents. Dying to save your child is a no-brainer. But to realize that the person(s) you love with your whole heart and soul tried to murder you for a few bucks would be devastating. There would be no more purpose in life.
Glad the brothers will be locked away though.
