It looks like this same family suffered tragedy in 2020 when Janet's son Jireh was murdered, his cousin later convicted of his murder.
A photo from the 2021 article directly above shows both Janet Morris (stabbing victim) & Brittany Morris (her daughter arrested for her murder):

In the video report with this story, the reporter says that neighbors said Brittany lived with her mom & has had mental issues for years. Supposedly mom Janet was also recently diagnosed with cancer per the report.

Tragic all the way around.

"Officers said a family member called for medical help at around 4:30 p.m., saying they showed up at the home and found Janet in distress."

In distress?
What a strange way to word this!
Was she in distress as in "we've just had a huge argument, she's threatened me with a knife and I'm fearful of my life so get me outta here" or was the family member who arrived putting it mildly because the lady was actually laying there covered in claret and about to take her final breaths?

IMO JMO of course

This is incredibly sad. I wonder what went wrong. She seemed like a devoted grandmother.

Victim's Facebook -On Aug 6, she made a post where she tagged the suspect and her other daughter listed in the photo above.

I would assume physical distress.
