A dead woman's T-shirt might be the clue that helps identify her.

Someone noticing a foul odor in the 2800 block of Macon's Columbus Road found the decomposed body behind a vacant house, according to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office.

Just after 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, sheriff's deputies were called to the backyard of the house where they found the unrecognizable female who was wearing a red shirt with the Dr. Seuss "Cat in the Hat" character "Thing 1" written in a white circle across the front.

Her race and cause of death are unknown because of the condition of the body.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Bibb County Deputies have identified the decomposed body found in the back yard of a vacant home this week.

58-year-old, Donna Whipple was found dead Wednesday night in the 2800 block of Columbus Road.

Deputies say Whipple was last seen by her friends on June 16th. The cause of her death is still under investigation.

I wonder if she has a twin? I can't imagine a 58 year old woman wearing that shirt unless she was a twin and wore it when she was with her twin.

Friends last saw her on 16th and she was found badly decomposed, so that her race was not even recognisable, only 5 days later. I didn't know that process was so fast. I am glad they id'd her anyway. Had she been reported missing?

According to some posts on SM she was a sweet (white) woman, everyday checking with her friend (who posted) if she could be of any help. I hope LE finds out who did this to her. The neighborhood she lived in is full of killings. Quit disturbing to read all of that.

I think there was to little time between missing (last spoke to friend 16th) and finding. If she was living alone and didn't had appointments that she missed...think it would take a while that somebody would have missed her.
