Sadly the reporting that the husband was out of town isn't as comforting as it should be.
Suzanne Morphew immediately comes to mind.

I’m guessing that the missing on the 13th date is possibly just the last day she was seen by someone (work colleagues, maybe?). They reported her missing on the 14th, but she is stated as missing from the 13th because of last confirmed sighting. JMO but it’s confusingly worded.

she had worked the previous day at another office off Villa Rica Way in Marietta

FOX 5 reached out to Dr. Nadler’s husband, Lesley Litt. He said he was out of the state visiting their son in college when his wife disappeared

As her phone was found by police at her home during the welfare check, possibly she went back home from work, then
Either went out again maybe for groceries given the potential location of her car in the parking lot suggested in this thread.
Or
She went missing from home. Someone else brought her car there.

The car was found undisturbed.

The Cobb Place shopping center, if this is it, closes at 9pm. On 13 Oct, sunset was at 7.05 pm and civil twilight at 7.30 pm. Source: Sunrise and sunset times in Atlanta, October 2025

The disappearance being out of character supports the idea that this wasn’t voluntary IMO, but who knows.

Solely based on the information out there, the scenario of foul play or unplanned adverse event rather than voluntary disappearance come more easily to my mind. The reason:

The car abandoned in a parking lot rather than at home or a house suggests something unexpected happened. It’s described as very out of character. A professional with family who fails to show up for work and disappears immediately is more consistent with something going wrong than a quiet exit.

Hopefully there are a lot of cctv available.

Questions:
-was the phone left at home because it needed charging?
-Or did she not expect to leave and was taken from her home by someone she opened the door to?
-What digital trace did she leave?
-Whom did she call or text last ?
-Who really saw her last and when?
-do cctv show her parking at the mall even if dark? Ot is the car parked in a zone without cctv? Parking lots are vulnerable spots at night.
-any personal stressors we’re not aware of? Medical condition, family crisis, that would make her want to leave and break a well established routine?

FOX 5 reached out to Dr. Nadler’s husband, Lesley Litt. He said he was out of the state visiting their son in college when his wife disappeared

The article states that her car was found "abandoned behind a business." There was talk earlier in the thread about the possibility of cameras in a shopping center lot but of course most cameras will be pointed to the front of retail businesses with large parking lots. Let's hope there still may be some cctv available.

When did the husband leave to visit the son out of town? Who knew she'd be alone? If her phone was at home, she arrived home after work on Monday, right? Has the family allowed the home to be searched/processed by LE? How about the car? Her phone? Where was the phone located at home?

This is very worrisome.

I'm shocked that I have so many WS neighbors!

Hi, I'm another one! I live in Kennesaw.

I hadn't heard of this case until I saw an alert on Facebook early this morning. It's shocking.

Not unusual for a woman's phone to be in a separate part of the home from her handbag (which would contain her wallet). IF she was abducted, it would make sense that the perp came in afoot, broke into the house or was waiting in the house, grabbed her and her handbag and car keys (usually together) and took her in her car to the parking lot where alternate transportation may have been prepositioned. Hoping police dusted the whole house and car for prints and DNA.

I had not seen them state that her car was located behind a business until the Fox5 article. Search intensifies for Marietta dentist whose car was found abandoned
This is a bit confusing because of the way the businesses are situated in that shopping center in relation to others. Further out in one business' parking lot kind of falls behind another. Was the car in the customer lot or in the back where the employees park?

There is one business in that center, Sidelines, that is open until 2AM on Mondays.

Another possibility is that she went home after work and then decided to run out and do a few errands, grabbing her purse and forgetting her phone. It would be more common to be assaulted/abducted from a parking lot at night than dragged from her home. If sexual assault or robbery was the suspect’s plan, there was no reason to take her.
Her husband was reportedly visiting their son at college. It was a holiday weekend. If that is true, I don’t find that unusual. He may have tried to call her Monday, but wasn’t overly alarmed if she didn’t answer. Or, maybe he had talked to her earlier on Monday.
It would be her not showing up for work on Tuesday which would have raised the alarm.

Hey, I’m also local to the area!!! The location her car was found in is a very busy area. Even if they aren’t able to find footage of the car being parked (if it was located behind a business) they would be able to find footage of her driving to the location. Knowing whether she was alone in the car or even if it was her driving the car would be very useful information.

Glad you joined us, as I always enjoy your thoughts on these cases.
What is your opinion of her husband reporting her missing on the 13th? That is what Cobb County LE told reporters.
Also being reported that he had the car towed from the parking lot in Kennesaw back to the home.
IMO.

Another East Cobber here 👋. Watching this closely. So far no updates today, at least not that I’ve seen?

I am also in the area and I know this family personally. I should say I know the husband -I don’t really know her. There are a lot of personal contacts sharing information on Facebook, but there was some misinformation posted which I believe has now been removed. This is secondhand so take it for what it’s worth, but I had read that initially they were keeping it quiet/out of the news but when a day or two went by and they still hadn’t been able to locate her they went public with it. I don’t know if she was working on Columbus Day or not but it sounds like she was. The idea that she may have run out to run an errand is quite plausible. This is so tragic.

In a recent update to information on the dentists at the practice where she works her smock says Melanie Nadler. No Litt. Did she not use her husband's name professionally?

We can't sleuth the family but based on an article I found about a 7th grade scholastic work of her son (her only child) did, he would be around 20 years old now.
Many times, women obtain their degrees and professional licenses under their maiden names, before they marry. It can be a difficult process - depending on the state - to change names on professional licenses, and to update resumes. I'm not sure I'd read anything significant into her use of her maiden name, at least right now.

It also depends on whether she chose not to change her name when she married.

For those close to the family I know this has to be so difficult. Hopefully answers will come soon.

See below, BBM - From link

Cobb County dentist reported missing, has not been seen since Monday, friends say

"The husband gave the police permission to enter the home after no one answered the door.

Officers said they found Litt’s cellphone powered off in her work bag near the front door.

The report said Litt’s car and her wallet were not at the house, but that officers didn’t find anything suspicious or signs of foul play.

Officers said her husband arrived at the home but didn’t find any missing items and noted that valuables, such as Litt’s wedding ring and passport, were in a safe.

According to police, Litt’s disappearance has not been determined to be suspicious, as they say “foul play is not suspected.”"

Cobb County PD just posted on their FB page that she was reported missing on the 14th, not the 13th.
Glad they clarified that.
IMO.

Can you clarify where you heard that foul play was not Suspected? The link you posted said that there was no evidence of foul play at the house, but they have not as far as I have heard given any information about her car, found in the parking lot, etc.

It was in the linked article, further down. I only bolded.

ETA I looked back at the article and it has been edited a bit. This is the sentence now within the news article:

(Cobb County police posted on Facebook that Litt’s disappearance has not been determined to be suspicious, as they say “foul play is not suspected.”)
