GA - Natalya Bellah, 2, shot dead by mother, Newton County, 28 Aug 2018 *Arrest*

"NEWTON COUNTY, Ga. - Channel 2 Action News has learned a 2-year-old girl is dead and police have detained her mother for questioning in Newton County.

Investigators said they were called to a home earlier Tuesday evening along Brown Thrasher Run.

Sheriff's cars lined the street for the homicide investigation of the 2-year-old girl inside her grandparents' house.

The Newton County coroner arrived on the scene to determine how the child died.

Around 5:30 p.m., deputies rushed to the scene of what they called a penetrating trauma. An hour later, they said the coroner pronounced the girl dead."

Ugh so many toddlers murdered by parents! I joke that the only reason I haven't killed my 3 year old yet is cause he's so cute but in reality I feel horrible when I get frustrated with him and send him to his room. Young kids can be trying but they are so funny, sweet and cute too. Is it poor parenting skills, drugs? I will never understand.

Mom charged in baby's murder on suicide watch at jail

A woman charged in the Tuesday shooting of her 2-year-old daughter is being held under suicide watch at the Newton County Detention Center.

"She's under close supervision as far as being a risk to herself," said Capt. Keith Crum on Thursday.
