Savannah police searching for missing 23-year-old man

Cater stands 5 feet, 3 inches and weighs 110 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes.

Philip Cater was last seen on the 100 block of Seminole Street around 4 p.m. (today) Sunday, Oct 20, wearing an orange hoodie and blue jeans. Police say he had no shoes on — just socks.

Missing 23-year-old found in storm drain in Savannah

A Mattie’s Call was issued for the 23-year-old who was last seen on Monday, Jan. 6 at 6:45 p.m. A man walking through the Sherwin-Williams Paint Store when he heard voices coming from a storm drain. When firefighters arrived on scene, they referenced storm drain system maps to find a possible point of entry. The closest point of entry was over 600 yards away, prompting firefighters to cut through the welded storm drain cover.

Savannah Fire rescued Phillip Cater from a storm drain off Abercorn Street near the English Oaks Apartment on Tuesday morning.
