Circumstances of Disappearance:
Crook was reported to have left Houston County, Georgia on the night of April 17, 1981. He was possibly operating his deceased father's 1971/1973 Buick Electra at the time.

Shortly before his disappearance, the police had issued Crook a citation for a stop sign violation. A bench warrant was issued when he failed to show up for traffic court and his driver's license was suspended on April 2oth. He has never been heard from again and his whereabouts remain unknown. Few details are available regarding his disappearance.

Apparently his father died the year before he went missing. He shot himself in the head with a pistol. He was only 37 when he died.

I can't help but wonder if he was feeling despondent about his father's death, especially as the 1-year anniversary of his suicide was fast approaching.

Bobby was my best friend in high school. Don't know how I came across this site but I'm glad I did.
I still keep in touch with his mom and sister. We frequently talk about Bobby.
I don't think he committed suicide. He and his step mother didn't get along. Rumor was that she had something to do with the disappearance over the life insurance.
Guess we will never know the truth. I just wish his mom could get closure.

You are correct. Our class was on our senior trip in FL but he did not go - his mom could not afford it at the time.
