March 13, 2023 article - indicates $2000 reward for information for safe return. Investigators say they have exhausted all leads. I did look up Dickens Terrace in Georgia, which led me to Lilburn, as well as did other articles. Although reported missing Oct 23, 2022, case only seems to be gaining media attention within the last couple months from what I see.

Regan spoke to Selena’s sister, Zada Garcia, who said she can’t stop thinking about her younger sister. Zada Garcia said Selena had bonded out of jail on a misdemeanor offense.

“I think so many things. And I do think she was kidnapped. Yes, I do think she was taken against her will,” Zada Garcia said.

She said her sister never expressed concerns about her safety, but she recently saw a troubling message Selena got from a friend.

“Never did she tell me that someone is following me, that someone is bothering me,” Garcia said.

Her friend sent her a message asking if she felt safe, to which Selena replied, “Yes, but I’d rather be with you.”

Garcia’s disappearance was among a slew of matters that prompted her family and other members of the Hispanic community to public say they felt the Gwinnett County Police Department did not take crimes against their community seriously enough, and did not do enough to protect Hispanic residents.

“With all of this, we’ve had more awareness of different families who have also, not necessarily been in the same situation, but they feel as if Gwinnett County is not listening to them,” Zaira Garcia, who is the sister of Selena Garcia, told the Daily Post in March.

Melissa Marrero from Hispanics United Alliance shared their organization’s efforts to seek answers from law enforcement and bring the family closure.

As police approach a year since her disappearance, they remind people that there is a reward on the table for information that could lead to Garcia’s safe return. Crime Stoppers Greater Atlanta is offering $2,000.

“It’s not uncommon on missing persons cases when you have somebody who is acting out of the ordinary. In this case, the family says even though she was having some of her own personal problems, she was still making regular contact with her family so it’s important for them to make contact with her to make sure she’s okay,” Pihera said.
