''ATLANTA — A daughter on Monday described the pain of losing her father just at the time, she said, he was turning things around as a dad and how she now has her own child who will grow up with a grandpa.
The daughter, Sage Pratt, and other family and loved ones spoke at an Atlanta Police news conference on the cold case murders of Sage's father, Stanley Pratt, and Centeria Fields in 2021 at their Peoplestown apartment''

''The press conference came as police are making a public plea for new evidence in the case. They released an in-home camera video that showed the moments from the morning of Dec. 18, 2021.
Police say Pratt was shot out on the front porch after he'd gone out for a cigarette around 7 a.m. Detectives believe he was targeted, noting that the suspect waited around for two hours before Pratt came outside and appeared to be familiar with his morning routine.
The video released on Monday showed Pratt running back into the apartment, holding his face, and going into the bedroom. The suspect a few moments later follows and goes into the room (the shooting itself is not visible). Pratt's and Fields' 11-year-old son is sleeping on the couch next to a Christmas tree at the time, before waking up to the gunshots and running out of the room.''

Police share new video in cold case homicide of Atlanta couple

Stanley Pratt and Centeria Fields were shot to death at their Peoplestown apartment in 2021.

''Police said their preliminary investigation showed a suspect, dressed in black, shot Pratt as he sat outside the apartment smoking a cigarette.

After he was shot, Pratt ran back into his apartment, where he was followed by the suspect into their bedroom. The suspect then shot Fields and Pratt again before fleeing from the apartment.
Their murders were witnessed by the couple’s two children, then 11 and six.''
'On Monday, police also played the 911 call made by one of the couple’s children to police.
Atlanta homicide detectives also played a video they hope will lead to a break in the case.'

Police release new video, believe killer knew victim in 2021 murders that happened feet away from 11-year-old

Atlanta police to release new video hoping to solve 2021 couple's shooting near Grant Park.

''Det. Shepard said the suspect is believed to have had "intimate knowledge of the layout of this apartment" as well as "intimate knowledge of the going-abouts between Mr. Pratt and his early morning routine."
Police are hoping Monday's press conference reaches people in the suspect's circles, which they believe would have overlapped with Pratt's.'

A week before Christmas in December of 2021, Stanley Pratt and "CeCe" Centeria Fields were shot to death in their apartment.

This video is a bit of a longer watch, but I highly recommend watching it in its entirety.

I did not realize just how close the 11 year old was to the killer. Thankfully he was not harmed. But after calling 911, he was then asked by dispatch to go into the bedroom where the both lay dead. Dispatch should not have asked him how many times his parents were shot, or if there was blood. All that is on the detectives once they arrive on the scene.

Why not tell the child to go to a safe space/ hide until the proper authorities arrive? Correct me if I am wrong, but that should be the role of dispatch. (Along with asking if the killer is still there, are there any weapons at the scene, what is the address so that help can arrive, etc)

Whomever did this waited 2 entire hours for Stanley Pratt to step outside on his front porch for a smoke first thing in the morning. He was then shot in the face. He then ran inside his house, and the NEST camera footage from the living room shows the 11 year old son sleeping on the couch as he runs inside and into the bedroom. Its inside the bedroom where he was fatally shot as was Centeriua.

Detective Shepard confirmed that there is footage showcasing the killer waiting outside but they did not release that initially nor will that be released now. Unfortunately it is from a distance so nothing showed the killer's face or any other identifying factors.

The family of Mr Pratt kept mentioning how he was just beginning to turn his life around. I assume this killing was related to matters regarding life decisions Pratt made years prior, things he was hoping to course correct on.

It appears that Miss Fields was not the intended target but rather she was collateral damage, as she was in the bedroom that Stanley retreated to, after being shot in the face outside on the patio.

Detective Sheppard also stated that they have some more evidence but he wont go into the details of it at this time.

"We need actual witness testimony," said Detective Jarion Shephard. "I can't speak on the exact evidence that we have because I don't want to give too much out. But to push this forward, I need somebody with some firsthand knowledge." This perpetrator is in certain circles. All it takes is one or two people in those circles to bring me information.

The audio of the 911 call is heartbreaking. I truly hope the family gets justice. I think this full length video gives all the details and also includes statements from the families impacted by this homicide. It added a human element to this case.

I hope the perpetrator gets caught soon.
