The body of a 19-year-old woman who was missing for seven days was found Tuesday night in a wooded area of DeKalb County.

Téa Choates appeared to be strangled to death, DeKalb County police confirmed to AJC.com. She was three months pregnant, her mother said.

Ebony King took to social media on Monday to ask for help to find her daughter after she disappeared from the Lithonia area on Aug. 6. The last person to see Choates was her fiancé, Aldeyshaun Locklear.

The 18-year-old was arrested Wednesday on charges of felony murder, aggravated assault related to strangulation and concealing a death. He is jailed without bond.

Police in Georgia have recovered the body of a missing 19-year-old pregnant woman and now the victim’s fiancé is behind bars on a felony murder charge.

According to online arrest records accessed by PEOPLE, Aldeyshaun Locklear, 18, allegedly confessed to killing Téa Choates following his arrest Wednesday.

Investigators found Choates’ remains buried in the woods near her home on Tuesday.

Locklear allegedly told authorities he strangled Choates, who was three months pregnant, following a heated argument, and then buried her body nearby.

Relatives reported Choates missing on August 6.

Choates spent much of her childhood in Johns Creek, where she attended Northview High School and was a member of the Stingray Allstars, a competitive cheerleading team. Her parents and younger sister have since moved to the Tampa area. Choates’ mother, Ebony King, runs a home for girls rescued from human trafficking and domestic abuse in Palmetto.

Before her daughter’s death, King told AJC.com she implored Choates to join them in Florida, but she chose to try to make a turbulent relationship with Locklear work. She was three months pregnant.

“She really just wanted the family,” King said. “She said, ‘Mom, I’m not going to leave him because I really want a family. He’s being much nicer now.’”

According to DeKalb County police, Locklear confessed to killing Choates inside their home after an argument got out of hand.

Why didn't he just get in his car, or buy a train or bus ticket, and GTH outta Dodge? Just leave. No contact with her. Crappy thing to do, yes, but it wouldn't land him in jail, facing a very serious charge, and it wouldn't end with her in a casket leaving behind loved ones who will never be the same without her.
I don't know the whole story, of course, but IMO, he surely had other alternatives. Now everyone is in a horrible place.

Justice for her family, but it won't bring Te'a back. So very sad.

Thanks, @vls12345, for the update.
