Cobb Co. teacher, wife accused of denying their children food and bathroom, confining them

Police say the crimes against the four children took place for more than a year.

Police told Channel 2 Cobb County Bureau Chief Michele Newell that Steven and Anissa Griffin watched their children’s every move through cameras they placed in all of their rooms. They are accused of putting alarms on the bedroom doors, and police say the children had to ask for permission to leave and use the bathroom or eat.

A now-18-year-old victim said she was confined to her room for one to two months and had to ask for permission to use the bathroom after being locked out. Both the 14-year-old and 18-year-old expressed discomfort with the constant video monitoring, especially as they changed clothes in their rooms. The 15-year-old echoed those concerns.

color me cynical, but they raised four children to adulthood and were compelled to adopt five more? I am sure financial gain had nothing to do with their decision and altruism led them to adopt.
