It seems incongruent to me that Tim would’ve been involved in drugs or anything illegal. From everything I’ve read, it sounds like he was a very kind person, but maybe also a bit naive.
It is a little odd to me though that at age 18 he would have been working at a horse farm /stables almost an hour away from his parents house - in exchange for his room and board - and only returning to Snellville (I guess to his parent’s house) on the weekends.
That’s not much of a life for an 18 year old man (jmo) especially if he had no car (idk whether he had a car or not - I’m just assuming he didn’t as he was presumably getting a ride home from “Jeff”).
I now live within 5 miles or so from where Tim disappeared, but back then I lived about 10 miles south of there. That area definitely was very rural at the time, but it’s not as far out as you might think when you look at a map of ATL and Forsyth Co.
The farm (where the subdivision is now) was in the very southeastern part of Forsyth Co, so, it was also near the N Fulton county and the Gwinnett County lines. It’s kind of midway on a line between Johns Creek and Suwanee.
The land just east of Kemp Rd is owned by the state: big green open fields and woods going over to the Chattahoochee River. I often see deer in those fields in the morning.
I agree with those who think the most likely route home to Tim’s parents would have been Kemp to McGinnis Ferry to Lawrenceville-Suwannee to the town / city of Lawrenceville and then south on 124 to Snellvillle. No route I can think of would take you anywhere near Lake Lanier. It probably would’ve taken 50 min or so to get to Snellville back then with open roads
I don’t think there is a “Dixie Mafia” or dark underworld involved in Tim’s disappearance. I don’t think he’d have been involved with any criminal enterprise, and you’d think that if the farm was a cover for some sort for a pot or coke or distribution enterprise , LE would’ve found such evidence. And I doubt that Tim would have had any real money to rob
Just my opinion, but I think Tim might’ve been the victim of a serial killer. Somebody who took advantage of him. If I had to make a wild (wild) guess, I’d suggest looking at Harry Eugene Hale. Tim would’ve fit Hale’s victim's profile.
It is almost certain that Hale abducted and murdered Christoph Zahn from a bus stop or hotel in Atlanta in 1992. I think he may have drugged his victims, but jmo, At the time, Hale lived in Austell, GA. I know he lived and worked in the area in ‘92, but am not sure if he lived there in ‘87.
Hale also had homes in FL and KY at the same time. In any event, disappearing Christoph from ATL while living in Austell / Carroll County proves Harry E Hale travelled to commit his crimes.
I believe Hale was also responsible for the disappearance / murder of at least two other late-teen through about 30 year old men up near Martin, KY, where Hale also lived (I believe this home was his main residence): Mitchell Manns (missing from near Martin), thought murdered, body never found; and Walter J Cropper (also missing from near Martin, KY, body discovered in Georgia..)
I think Hale may be responsible for the disappearance of many other young men. Maybe it’s been done, but I wish someone would do an investigation and podcast about Harry Eugene Hale’s timeline and whereabouts and the possibly-related disappearances of young men in those locations - especially in KY, GA, and FL.
