I can't believe the guy who did the stabbing is claiming self defense. He didn't have to follow this guy, get out of his car and then stab him to death. And this happened near where I live. I now carry my gun in my car.

Horrible, isn't it? There was a another case in the news fairly recently where the accused tried to claim a similar defense. It was ridiculous reading about the trial and the accused's indignation. You should have seen his prior driving offenses.

Zakar Yasharahla, 38, pleaded guilty this week to a misdemeanor charge of involuntary manslaughter. Fulton County Superior Court Judge Michael Johnson sentenced him Monday to a year of probation and 250 hours of community service.

Eyewitnesses testified at a pretrial hearing that the alleged victim attacked Yasharahla. Defense attorney Noah Pines said Yasharahla acted in self-defense against an assailant, Tony Newberry, who was both drunk and high on marijuana, according to autopsy results.
