SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – The Savannah Police Department (SPD) is searching for a woman and two infants taken during a shooting on East 36th Street Tuesday morning.......
According to SPD, the shooting happened in the 1500 block of East 36th Street. One woman was injured.

Officials say she was transported to the hospital with what appears to be serious injuries.

SPD said the woman, possibly named Kathleen, has the two 6-week-old boys, Matto and Lorenzo, with her. She’s traveling in a white car, possibly a Kia Optima.

Officials say they’re working on issuing an Amber Alert for the missing infants.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has activated an AMBER Alert, Georgia's Levi's Call, at the request of Savannah Police Department. It has been reported that Lorenzo and Matteo Rogers were abducted on 5/11/21 and last seen at 10:20am on the 1500 Block of East 36th Street. Suspect and children are believed to be traveling in a Nissan Altima or Kia Optima and believed to be in extreme danger.

According to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, the abductor weighs about 300 pounds, may be in her 30's, has brown eyes, and has a brown weave.

This is from an Amber Alert I got 20 minutes ago. I'm a couple hours from Savannah. Not a lot of details in the news link, but it doesn't appear to be one of the parents that took them. A woman was found shot and babies missing from the home.

An Amber Alert has been issued for 6-week-old twins taken during a shooting in Savannah Tuesday morning.

According to the Savannah Police Department (SPD), a woman, possibly named Kathleen, is believed to be traveling with the infants, Lorenzo and Matteo Rogers.

She’s traveling in a white car, possibly a Kia Optima or Nissan Altima. Authorities describe her as a Black woman in her 30s, approximately 300 pounds, with brown hair in a weave style.

Anyone with information on their whereabouts is urged to call 911, or SPD at 912-351-3400.

Damm! What in the world? The darling boys in the pic look clean, healthy and happy. Ransom? Relative taking boys because they were in a bad situation with mom? Recent mother who lost her pregnancy early or had premature child who did not live, now in a bad mental state?
Hoping that the mom will recover well and soon. Can you imagine what she is enduring? Hoping she has good family members close to her.

I think we cross posted but I think LE feels they are in extreme danger because they were kidnapped by an unknown person who may have shot their mother to get them. This unknown person may be named "Kathleen" and believe she may be driving the white car.

Yes, I was surprised that they didn't only do an Amber Alert down below Savannah to Jacksonville in a certain distance, they apparently did the Amber alert State Wide also in Georgia. So quickly, I thought that was an unusual alert when it finally appeared with my ETA above.

I would imagine they believe she's on the road and not stopping at this point so spread the word as far as you can!
So grateful they have a description and photo and were able to issue the AA.

UPDATE: Matto and Lorenzo are safe in the arms of officers after being taken from their home in Savannah earlier today. The suspect is in custody. More details will be available later today.
