Heres a strange case. No Body was found, but there's a witness who was six years old at the time saying he saw that someone was beaten to death with a fire poker and was buried behind their house. The exact state where this alleged murder happen is not known but it was reported to the gbi.
Unsolved Homicide: Possible Homicide
Sex Male
Race White
Location Georgia(reported)
Cause of Death Beating
The GBI's Crime Analysis Unit has received information on a possible homicide that may have occurred sometime between 1975 and 1979. The witness who came forward was only six years old at the time of the incident so details are sketchy. According to the witness, the victim was a white male named "Roy" who was beaten to death with a fire poker and buried in the woods behind his house. Roy was a caretaker of a farm for an older, white female named "Quincey". The incident could have occurred in Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, or Texas. Anyone who might have information on this incident is asked to contact Special Agent Keith Howard at 770-987-2415 or by e-mail at [email protected].

I wonder what the witness' relation to the place was if they were just a kid. If they lived there, then surely they could get some info on the place?

Maybe -- but when a family moves this often stability is typically a problem. The child may have been passed from relative to relative, or in formal or informal foster care.

I know where I lived at age 6, but my family (me, parents, sibs) lived there for several years.

@phantomstrider , do we anything more about this witness's early life?

TY!

Nope I know nothing about the witness in this case. I just found the case on unidentified wiki and on the gbi website and decided to post it here as it seemed strange and I couldn’t find a thread for it. Everything I know is in the link to the case above.

missing White males, used the name Roy, last contact 1979 or earlier, no luck.

Russel LeRoy Brown, missing since October 16, 1972 from Anchorage, Alaska.

Missing aircraft, white and orange Cessna N1812N overdue from Anchorage to Juneau. Also missing are Nicholas Begich, Thomas Boggs Sr, and Don Jones.

Well, not Russel LeRoy Brown, and this is the only pre-1980 Roy that Namus produces.

No search result on Charley Project, for first name or middle name Roy, missing prior to 1/1/1980.

Hard to search for a nickname alone....

I found some possibilities using Roy and names that sound like Roy.
Roy Frank Laney, 45 went missing after walking away from his home in Buford, Georgia in 1980. He had been hit in the head with a baseball bat during a fight earlier that day.
Alan Leroy Carl, 29, went missing from Duluth, Minnesota in 1979.
Glenn Edward McCoy, 50 went missing from Victoria, Texas, 1979.
Christopher J. McCoy went missing from Perrine, Florida in 1979.
William Thomas Coyle, 23 went missing from Camden, New Jersey in 1975. He told family he was going to Florida with friends.

Thanks!

Can you provide links to the supporting docs for them?

Do they have threads here?
