Member of An Garda Siochana goes missing in Berlin after flight from Dublin as appeal for help finding him made.

Alan 'Al' Curry, 45, was last seen at Berlin Brandenburg Airport after flying from Dublin Airport to the German capital last Monday, November 15.

Friends and family of Mr Curry, who is a Detective Garda attached to the force's ballistics section, have now launched an appeal for information finding him.

He was wearing a blue mid-length coat, a white shirt, grey suit jacket and trousers and black shoes when he boarded his flight.

He was also carrying a black satchel or laptop bag on his person.

He has been described as having green-blue eyes, a shaved head, being 5 foot 9 in height and having a broad build.

He has tattoo sleeves on both arms while he is also said to periodically change between a full beard, which is brown with grey at the chin area, a goatee and clean shaven.”

Can’t find any updated news in English or in German :(

Friends and family are sharing his missing poster via social media and asking anyone who has got contacts in Berlin, Hamburg or Munich to keep spreading the information.

Alan was travelling with his laptop but it doesn’t necessarily mean his trip to Germany was work related. Al’s background can potentially make his disappearance more complex though… Just IMO.

I'd like to know what his trip there was actually for. Pleasure/Leisure? Or something to do with his job?

If it was to do with his job, then he must've had a contact and colleagues in the Berlin Polizei who he'd be meeting.

If it was a trip for leisure, then did his family know? How long was the trip expected to last? Why take his laptop?

Bumping for Al.

No further news apart from posters going up in Munich and Berlin.

One comment on Twitter that Alan has contacted his family but it can’t be verified. No MSM news regarding the matter.

Well, at least he's safe. Even if it IS in a different country to the one he flew to.

Still wish he'd have told someone sooner though.....

But yay.
